## Description

The Link has undergone an evolution with CPM 20CV blade steel and a new, machined and anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle. And yes, this Link is still an amazing value and is proudly made in the USA. Ideal for everyday slicing, the rounded belly of the Link makes the most of the new blade steel by providing plenty of blade edge for effective cutting. The precision machined grip and liner lock mean you'll be able to cut with confidence. Made with pride by Kershaw Knives – you can trust the quality and experience with any Kershaw product.

Review: Excellent EDC Knife - Very happy with this knife. The blade came shaving sharp, and the edge looks nice. I really like the ergonomics of the Link, though I would have preferred the plastic handle. I liked the ergonomics of that better, but I think the aluminum handle is a bit thinner and that helps with EDC. It opens smoothly, but isn't loose, and I expect it will open up a little over time. I'm a big fan of this blade style. Very functional and easy to sharpen. I'm excited to see how Magnacut steel holds up. The fit and finish is perfect. The aluminum is not too smooth. The deep carry clip is good. The screws holding in the clip add some extra resistance and may be too prominent to slide easily into jeans pockets, but for thinner material, it may help retention.
Review: Fantastic price for a fantastic knife. - When I saw the price of this knife, I just had to have it. It was listed as having M390 Blade steel but the one that I received actually turned out to be magna cut. now for me that’s not a problem at all, as both steels are fantastic. In my limited experience, I’d say that the M390 will probably hold an edge slightly longer than the magna cut if it’s done correctly, but the magna cut is definitely more tough which I think would make it better for more of an all-around every day use knife at least for the majority of people.I only have two other assisted opening knives and for me, it’s not exactly something that is needed as I find most modern pocket knives open very easily these days sometimes easier with the ball bearings that are found on most. The knive opens perfectly with the flipper tap but closing it is a little bit more difficult simply because you have to overcome that spring. So it’s not a one hand closer at least not for me. I either have to use both hands or push it against the side of my leg or an object. The blade itself is a very nice shape. It’s got a good amount of belly on it, but it has a nice tip on it as well. It was very sharp right out of the box. The lock up is of course very good with the liner lock. There is no blade play at all. The handle is aluminum, but feels very ergonomic and fits my hand perfectly. The clip on this is not terrible, but not great at least in my opinion it’s so so. The knife is a tad bit heavier than some other knives I have of a similar size but not uncomfortably so and it definitely feels solid and durable. When I bought it I think it was $109. That’s just unheard of and Kershaw makes a great product. They really made a very good knife in this and I would highly recommend whether you like assisted knives or not if you want a super steel knife this is one of the best options out there.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Sharpening angle?**
A: I sharpen mine at 20 degrees and it seems to match the original grind.

**Q: Blade finish?**
A: From the produuct description: "The stonewashed finish gives the blade’s surface a desirable roughened, scuffed, look and helps hide scratches, fingerprints and dirt. "
Mine has been in my pocket constantly for a few years and looks exactly like new. I take reasonable care of my tools, in this case wiping the blade with a soft dry paper towel or tissue after each use or every couple of weeks if it hasn't been used (pockets are surprisingly linty places!). Wipe the blade, blow out the space between the handle slabs, and you're done. I expect this knife to look like new for many years .
Just buy it, adjust the pivot tension to your preference with a torx bit (? a #6, if I remember) so that there is no blade play (slop, wiggle) when locked open and no tighter. I have never had to perform any maintenance beyond simple wipe down cleaning,
BTW, I have larger hands (I take a Large or Xlarge glove, depending on the glove maker's designation) and I have a solid grip on tht Kershaw Link's handle in any one handed grip position.
Buy it!

**Q: will it open fully easily with 1 flick? Many expensive models struggle with this.**
A: I've bought one each for me, my son, and my son in law. It's sasy to open and close (oncr you get a little practice closi9ng it one-handed. Start SLOW and kepp your fingers out of the blade's path.). Even better, buy the Kershaw knife tool (cheap) and adjust the tension to your preference. I set it so there's no palpable blade play when open, and opening and closing is smooth and reliable. Just don't try to over tune it, get it to "good enough for my uses and stop fiddling. It is still the best value in one-hand usable super versitile pocket knives anywhere. And with a 100% lifetime guarantee on a 100% USA made product, it's one of a vanishing breed.

**Q: Only 30% of the liner is in contact with blade, is it by design? Is it safe to use? Why not 100% contact between liner and blade?**
A: Liner locks are designed to wear over time, so as long as the knife is relatively new and the tang of the blade is firm against the lock when open, 30% is fine. Over time, the friction between the blade and the lock will cause the lock to settle in and when open, the lock bar will open wider and more of it will contact the blade tang. You wouldn't want that to be 100% out of the box because then the wear would eventually cause the lock bar to over-travel and not lock up solidly. In fact, any liner or frame lock knife that throws to a full 100% is probably worn out, and should have the lock bar insert replaced, or be outright retired if it doesn't have one.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best knife
*by W***L on 30 March 2023*

Made in USA and 20cv blade for under $100 I paid $85 but now it's only $73! Worth every penny and I am a big fan of Kershaw's spring assist and this has a very snappy action that is awesome with great blade lock up. Looks nicer in person. This is my best pocket knife I have ever owned. If it's a little high to pay for right now just save your money till you can because this knife is like a $200 + knife for under a $100. The blade is thin which makes it great for slicing but still robust for harder work. I have a Kershaw volt ss in 8cr13mov which is half the price of this but is a lot of money for the cheaper steel. I have a ganzo fh91 in d2 that was $26 and that is another good quality knife for being a true budget knife and this is the best one out of all of them. This is a must have knife at this price. No need to buy a zt, we, Benchmade when you get a better product at a fraction of the price.i will make a good detailed review of this and my other knives/sharpeners because there aren't many on YouTube. If you buy this you will love it and use it more than any other pocket knife. I love Kershaw they will always be my favorite high quality but affordable knives. This is the best Kershaw you can get. I also have never had a speedsafe break. Update I got a magnacut version expecting it to be better than the 20cv but their 20cv is much better than their magnacut. I can't get it as sharp as quickly as 20cv and it gets duller faster. Sucks that magnacut isn't as good as it's been hyped to be I wish I could send mine back and replace it with a 20cv version model. I've had lost and replaced this knife 5 times cause how good it was and all those models were 20cv. Now I have the magnacut version and it's not nearly as good as the 20cv model. Maybe I got a lemon with a bad heat treat but when I get extra money I'm gonna buy the 20cv model before they are all gone.
