I have to separate the blades every few days to clean and oil them… then the ripper works good as new. You can tell when it needs cleaning, as the battery seems to die. I check the battery on a tester to see that it’s still good before taking the blades apart. After doing this a few times, it doesn’t take two minutes. Try it before you give up on this very useful little time saving tool. **Q: Why is the logo covered in the image? Seems shady...** A: If you click on the image, it has a picture with the name showing. I do not know why it is covered up in this photo. It looks exactly like the one I bought. I love it. It is especially nice with paper piecing. I hope you will love it too. **Q: Will this work to remove stitched embroidery? I have a bunch of expensive clothes from my old job but they have the company’s logo embroidered on them** A: if you work from the back of the clothing and have a seam ripper to begin it may help you to remove the threads quicker. It all depends how closely the logo was attached. I truly only have used it to remove stitches on cloth. I did work on one shirt button area that was stitched commercially and it was very tight and close. It took a while but it did work. **Q: Is it noisy?
