I added a 3tb WD hard drive. I have three 1080p cameras and a 4k camera linked to it using ONVIF. One of those is a finicky doorbell camera that temporarily bricks itself when other ONVIF NVR apps try to access it. Thankfully this NVR can login to that stream without issues. This NVR records reliably and the motion detection works. It also hasn't seemed to slow down at all as I've added cameras and the playback interface is fast as well. Then you can view the video through the NVR. In this way, most of the functions of the camera can be operated on the video recorder without opening the camera's APP. **Q: Will this record wyze wifi cameras?** A: If your camera supports the ONVIF protocol, then it can record video. **Q: can this control ptz cameras** A: As a unbiased third party let me just say if your trying to watch the stream in a web browser directly from your NVR, your doing it wrong already. Only supporting old IE 8 and requiring a activeX controller is practically everyone on the market / new and old. That's typical. Streaming is not what the interface is for. I'm not here to give a class on how to setup a NVR and the correct way to watch a stream threw a web enabled device but you don't remote into the NVR for that. **Q: Is there a ir remote for the nvr-1116pf that can be purchased?** A: No IR Remote. Furthermore, the only remote access to the NVR is through Microsoft IE on Windows 7. No new browsers work with this NVR. Only the Old Internet Explorer with an ActiveX installed on an Old Windows system will work. Microsoft's new Edge Browser is also incompatible. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS NVR TO ANYONE. It also does not support keyboard input. Only a USB Mouse is supported, and you must be plugged directly into, and in front of, the NVR to configure it through an on screen, point and click, text entry virtual keyboard. I plan to upgrade to a NAS based NVR like Synology or Qnap anyway, but this is doing a good job in the meantime. ### ⭐⭐ Not bad, but know what you're getting *by M***S on September 28, 2021* When comparing this hardware device side-by-side with Blue Iris, I've found the cameras disconnect from the NVR much more often and do not automatically reconnect. I use a mix of ONVIF compatible wifi and POE cameras. The highest bitrate camera I have right now is a 5MP Reolink and it seems to disconnect from the NVR every few hours. Blue Iris doesn't have any issues with any of the cameras. The mobile app (XMEye) is a total joke. Look up the reviews on the app if you expect to use the app when connecting to this device. It wants you to sign up for an account The device does have a web server, which is probably how the app connects. However, you cannot simply use a web browser to view cameras. A simple web-based remote viewing option should be standard, but they want to sell you cloud services through their mobile app. At the end of the day, the device does what it advertises. When you open it up to install the hard drive, the internal circuit board is nothing more than a small corner of the case. The hard drive is 2-3x as large. The interface is surprisingly fast and responsive.
