I used to do work without it and life was a bit difficult to get around the electrical world. I went through a different tester at first and was satisfied with it but I enjoy having and working with newer technology. I took pictures of the stuff I didn't like and for product display. It comes with extra bags etc but overall I enjoyed what I got. It's functions are more than capable of the job and what the product offers is way more advanced. The booklet does offer some teachings and I do find it useful. anyone who is looking for some understanding of the product can find it handy. The book does show great examples and step by step process as well. The only problem really was how the company handled the product. I feel like I got one of those handled products at the bottom of a delivery crate but I have nothing to complain about. The product comes with a much thicker wire compared to my last probe, the connection is extreme duty so you don't get any accident unplug. The manual can't stress enough about disconnecting product while in use and they definitely back that up with their heavy duty plug so 5 star to that. Clamps are also 4x bigger and better than my last probe and even my jump starters and that's because I own 3 jumpers. The one complaint was the the box it comes in and that's my reason for the 4 star. I like to buy high end because I would expect high end and I am happy with my product but we are all human and sometimes have accidents. If I happen to drop this product and it is in my box, I wouldn't want it to break on my first fall. The box is a very flimsy thin like material. My obd2 is much heavier duty that this box, really I'd be scared to leave it anywhere unattended. Amazon has always done great at delivering and never any issues. The issues I have had were resolved easily but I would definitely buy product again.
