We get a thorough and easy-to-grasp explanation of what this unique book is about and why it is important for us today. The first half of the Book of Daniel is less challenging, but then if you stick with it, you are drawn into the amazing revelations he received, mostly in his old age, much of which he himself did not understand. Dr. Jeremiah does an excellent job of presenting the story of his long sojourn in Babylon, his career as a high ranking government official, his dedication to prayer, and his faithfulness to God in spite of losing so much when he was only a teenager. Daniel was taken captive from Jerusalem, and from his native Israel, which he would never see again. There is so much to unpack in just 12 Bible chapters, and sometimes cutting through all the imagery and animal metaphors can be a daunting task . But David Jeremiah makes it as easy and as satisfying as anyone possibly could.
