I bought these cartridge to replace a late 1970s tub/shower mixer. I was expecting the installation to be a pain since the current cartridge had been in there for almost 4 decades. But surprisingly it came out relatively easily and the new one went in relatively easily. Just make sure that you notice that there’s a right way and a wrong way to install it based on hot water on the left and cold water on the right, You should check this before you tighten everything down. Your best bet is to go to YouTube and watch a little video on installation
