Review: Only brand I'll use - I've bought this brand for several years. Initially it was to help me lose weight but I found that with daily use I was able to stop taking my antidepressants.( Which I had been on for 10 to 15 years) I'd much rather use something without lots of side effects. I'm able to keep moving through out the day (even during a recent triple whammy that normally would have had me in bed or sacked out on the couch for days) can accomplish a good bit and feel normal. It doesn't cause any type of jitters, just makes me feel like a normal person. I'm less irritable and find dealing with others much easier. I'll continue to buy this brand because I know it's a quality I can trust.

For myself, the carbohydrate metabolism has really been messed up, all my life. Low blood sugar plagued me, but now I'm much older. I had no idea how bad it was, until I began to take these. It is very subtle in the beginning, but if you stick with it and chart the changes, after a month you will begin to see that you are able to do so many things better than before / think better / stop the crazy food cravings at night, on and on. For me, the mood factor is a big deal. I didn't know this -- I had to learn the hard way. I decided "it just isn't working like I thought it would" and so I quit taking it for a few weeks. OMIGOSH, big mistake. I had no idea how much it was helping me, until I stopped. I recommend you stick with it and you won't be sorry.

I've bought this brand for several years. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Taken for anxiety

I started taking this three months ago for what seems to be some form of postpartum anxiety. When the physical symptoms of anxiety had gotten so bad that they were debilitating, I went to the doctor a complete mess. He of course wanted to put me on antidepressants immediately and I was very against it, having heard about the side effects and that they can be very hard to get off of. And if course the jury is out if they are truly safe for breastfeeding. So being the good doctor that he is, he referred me to some medical studies about saffron working very effectively as an antidepressant, which are very convincing...but unlike SSRIs which are a blanket approach, we don't know if saffron functions the same for anxiety. Nonetheless I bought some of this stuff and started it immediately, hoping to find a natural solution. I have been waiting to write this review because I've heard herbs take a while to really work. I'm on my third bottle right now and I have noticed there's a difference, but it hasn't cured me either. My mental outlook is perhaps better, but many of the anxiety symptoms are hanging around. I will also mention this isn't the only thing I'm doing to combat my PPA. I began therapy around the same time and started taking Calm Now as well as magnesium powder a month in. So those are other manipulated variables. They say you shouldn't try too many things so you will know what's actually working, but when suffering it's hard to wait it out too long. Now, this stuff isn't cheap. If it were an actual cure, I'd be all for purchasing monthly to avoid antidepressant use. However I am also hesitant to stop, so I will be trying a cheaper option next and switch back to this one if I notice a difference. As for the appetite suppression, I noticed a little in the beginning, but my anxiety was causing me to lose my appetite anyway. So who knows. Later down the road I'm eating like crazy so I wouldn't recommend it for that purpose. High cortisol will cause you to stress eat so perhaps that's also a piece of evidence against it's effectiveness as an antidepressant. In conclusion, I think saffron is a good alternative to SSRIs, but takes longer to kick in, and shouldn't be the sole means of treatment for depression/anxiety. (No pill nor supplement should).
