Certainly, learning how to invest intelligently will change the reader’s life.  “Private Money Lending: Learn how to Consistently Generate a Passive Income Stream” is a book written by Gustavo J. Gomez. It is a middle-length book that has four hundred pages full of interesting and useful information. Once I started reading, it was difficult to put it down because it opened my mind and generated new ideas. I found out about other areas of investing which I had no idea of their existence.  I found this book to be utterly complete and very well researched; It shows that the author did a great job researching as he unveils some strategies and secrets that will help any investor generate a great income. It is well and clearly written; I thought that it was going to be a complicated read but I was wrong. The author has a very good writing style that is easy to understand and follow; he uses a conversational style to explain what the investor should do and why. It is aimed at any type of public - those who know about investing and those who are about to start.It is a sincere and enlightening read that will help those who are about to retire and want to know what to do with the money to have safe earnings. As the author does not try to sell something and it shows he is just telling what he knows and researched this book gains trust towards the investment method and fidelity. This book is one to have always with you and re read it as I believe that this will unfold new ideas and will inspire the readers in different ways. Luckily, Gustavo Gomez has managed to take a different approach and has been able to unpack the investing world of private mortage lending in his book, PRIVATE MONEY LENDING. He has clearly done the research into what sort of know how it takes in this area, despite the often tumultuous state this area of investing has been in over the last couple decades. This is also incorporated into understanding how the Federal Reserve tampers with this market in order to help the real estate market recover and hopefully sustain growth in the long term.What is interesting to know is how Gomez sees how far reaching this private mortgage lending is. It ranges up to low yield type investments, like CDs or bonds, up into other more fluid stock market transactions. While retaining some of this more “Wall Street” know how, Gomez never lets the reader stray too far into the weeds without guiding them back to his various lessons. This is also to reinforce how business owners have to be better informed in the choices that they are making, so that they will still have a fallback plan in the future. Considering how our economics are only becoming more complicated, Gomez’s book is a welcome haven among all the chaos.And even though the majority of the book is about investing, Gomez weaves in tips about saving and spending, which is another plus, since this is very practical and concrete. Stock also have nothing tangible to back up their worth if the company in question fails.Therefore, the author of this book sought to find a high interest, low risk source of passive income that would be suitable for senior citizens. In keeping with this theme, the text covers the pros and cons of a wide variety of investments before focusing solely on private mortgage lending.The last 15% of the book contains supplementary information and a glossary of terms, so it’s not as long as readers might think. It’s still conceptually quite dense and one might have to read the text multiple times before they truly understand the topics involved.The book needed a bit more editing. It can be wordy and is very redundant on certain issues. There are also a few unnecessary explanations for common terms and concepts (white collar, conflict of interest, caveat emptor, etc.) mentioned in the text.On the other hand, several sections were difficult to understand because they either contained large excerpts from legal documents or they were filled with industry specific terminology. These could be summarized or otherwise made more readable. (I also struggled with the numerical data at times but I'm not good with numbers.)Private Money Lending would nonetheless make a very good reference book for students and/or business people who are studying these topics in depth. But it may not hold the attention of someone with a causal interest in the subject for long periods of time. In fact, I really struggled to get through the section on the nuances of the Dodd-Frank Act.On a purely personal note, I dislike Kindle books that tell me to highlight sections because that should be my choice. The random markings alone make the text hard to read.
