Mindful of the previous reviews indicating the fabric tore easily, I was careful to put it on, which seemed wise, and worked fine. If you do that, you won't tear it. And If you are anywhere near the "edge" of the size chart, then definitely size UP to a larger size. You can't squeeze into these things successfully if they are too tight, but they will comfortably smooth out the waist, hips, and bottom bra line area, which is the whole idea of this product. They do make a worthwhile difference. Would have preferred slightly more cost effective, so I only got one each of beige and black.
