My only problem is once the cakes get a little bigger the wool sort of flips off and goes underneath the resting plate and into the gear mechanism but that’s easily fixed by winding a little slower and keeping an eye on your tension. You can’t really wind cakes bigger than 1 whole 100g skeen (so if you wanted to connect sirens for bigger cakes that won’t really work as quite a small device). There’s a good sturdy quality to this device too. It doesn’t feel flimsy when you’re using it. Apart from that I think that this winder is great for beginners and I would definitely recommend.
