The SSX model has a firm thick shaft the size of a 5A stick and a firm tip. The SSE e-drum model has a bit thicker but softer grip, is slightly lighter overall and has a softer tip, both to reduce and absorb shockwaves from rubber pads. Here at Amazon USA these are the only versions available. **Q: What if you add slient drum heads and cymbals well useing the the sticks and slient bass drum beater?** A: I am very happy with these sticks. If you get silent heads and a silent bass, drum beater you’ll be in great shape. For near silent practice. To further reduce the volume of my bass drum, I use some type of screw on pad. They could break. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great alternative to 'hot rods' *by M***E on 6 July 2025* I bought these as I need to be relatively quiet in our rehearsal space, and I'm not keen on the dowel rod style sticks intended for that purpose. I was tempted by these as they looked to be a similar size to hold onto as regular drumsticks. They are of course lighter than regular sticks, but they do have a decent bit of weight in them so don't feel flimsy. And they do what they're supposed to do - good sound, less volume! My only dislikes are aesthetic. I don't like that the place where the tip is glued into the tube is exposed, as it just looks a bit messy. And the sticks themselves look pretty wrecked pretty fast, as the plastic shows up all the dings significantly.
