MUCH better than those plain spoons sold at mass market stores. Since I use my wooden spoons daily I am rather picky about them. I will have these for years. Thanks for the quality! I would like to add a few personal tips for wooden spoon use. I never use plastic utensils in my hot cooking because they leech plastic and chemicals into my food. I use stainless steel in my metal pans and wooden in my other, such as enamel coated pans, that I do not want scratched. When I boil something I just leave the spoon in the pot and let it boil too. Kills germs and dont need a spoon rest. After cooking, lets say mac and cheese or chili or oatmeal (all sticky foods), I immediately rinse the spoon to keep food from drying on it and sticking. I NEVER soak a wooden spoon or wood handle in water longer than 5 minutes, it splits the wood. I run them thru the dish washer in the silver ware rack and have had no damage because of it. I am almost 50 years old, have always cooked with wooden spoons and have never been made sick from it. So do not believe all the hype about wood soaking up germs. It's how you care and use your wood that matters. The olive wood is a smooth hard wood so I prefer it over the bamboo and I never buy anything that is not bamboo or olive wood. The other spoons can be rough and have splinters. This spoon has a good handle on it and not just a small round dow rod feel to it like cheaper spoons. This spoon will last for years. The description says they were turned wood, but others thought they might have been glued. I can say with confidence ours are 100% one full piece of spoon head and handle, turned from a single block of wood. They are the perfect go to spoon that we use on all of our cookware because they are so gentle.I would say to keep good care of these and have them last you'll want to research how to oil your spoons to keep a protective coating on them, as they can stain if left soft and supple unprotected wood. The only other thing is the spoon head itself isn't terribly large, but it is large enough to pick up pasta and other things. But it is mostly meant for cooking a stirring pots. Which is how I use mine, and they're my go to cooking spoon.
