The sun had no effect on the protector at all. One side effect is the rainbow sheen that was in the center is now gone! It is perfectly clear and working like a charm. Edit: So it wasn't long after installation that the first crack appeared. No biggie. That just means it was DOING ITS JOB by sacrificing itself to save my phone. The crack didn't bother me so I left it alone. Many months later and after accumulating a bunch more cracks, I decided to replace it. Again, easy as pie and my phone is pristine.
