This gate was about 5 inches shorter than the last one we had which was a concern because when my dog gets excited, she tries to jump the gate and actually gets some pretty good height. So far, this gate has been fine for her height-wise and we havnt had any issues with her jumping over, getting hurt, etc.This was the tallest option that I found for narrow doorways (pre 1900s house, iykyk) and I was very disappointed that it didn't seem to come in a white option. The white option that I saw was an inch too wide for what would fit my home.I may have gotten mixed up with another gate since I was looking at so many at once, but I had thought that this gate said you could move the gate in whatever direction that you wish. This is not the case, it looks like you might be able to switch the direction but there is a little stopper at the bottom so even if you can change which way it opens into, you're stuck with what you choose- you can't have it set to just open it in whatever direction you want at any given time.Overall, this is a well made gate. It's all metal and feels very sturdy. I love the arch in the design and it was relatively easy to install.
