Although not quite spill proof as the neoprene seal will allow fluids in, it will help against minimal splash accidents for a while. Definitely don't drop in a puddle, it will not keep water out from the bottom as the seal definitely isn't water tight, and the case won't float the weight of the device. This reason and the flimsy charging jack access flap is why it lost a star. The handle doubles as a good, but easy to tip 70 degree viewing stand, and is only about 15-20 degrees as a flat but worthy prop. Not a deterrent, but gives it a smart, first catch safety from the inevitable debris and fluid falling in a kids play setting. Smart design overall, as kid proof as possible without losing device fun and function in the process; just mind the drinks. ### ⭐⭐⭐ it does good at keeping iPad safe from bumps but the handle ... *by A***E on June 5, 2017* it does good at keeping iPad safe from bumps but the handle stand doesn't work for long, we are on our second one now and having the same issues. After about a month of use the handle stand just won't stay standing. The handle bends too far back and it just tips over.
