The problem is, in order to enjoy the beautiful sound, your phone does not have enough power to drive this as this is high impedance headphone. So you need a portable amp. Even an amp below $100 will do.. its even better with a good amp. I have an LG v40 and an older okyo amp so i combined both. Great sound! Then i also have the Sony WM1A walkman. It can drive it with balance 4.4 plug , but again i need an amplifier to bring out the beast sound. So i used the Ifi iDSD black label with my sony walkman and this DT 1990 Pro.. otherwise, if u only use the phone exclusively, u will find the volume low and will just sound β€œok”. U might end up returning it. But. I give this headphones, the Sony walkman and the ifi dsd black label amp all 5 stars!! I highly recommend it!!! Hope this helps and enjoy !! Oh and download some high res music files too! Not mandatory. At least you will have some high quality music files! **Q: Can you hook it up to vmoda microphone using an adapter?** A: Yes, I found a mini xlr to 3.5mm female adapter on here which works perfectly with my vmoda boom mic **Q: Are both cables equipped with a 1/4" plug or is one 1/8"?** A: It includes a 3.5mm connector along with a screw-on 1/4" adapter. **Q: How do these compare to the hifi sundra and do they have good bass?** A: They have better sound stage and imagining. Bass is fuller and more impactful.
