Then you drop it into the insulated bottle after 12-24 hours. You can immediately start the next batch. It spins around & around.Is this a defective unit or is there a trick to removing it?** A: Hi There, It sounds as though you may have a problem with your carafe. How do I fix this?** A: Sounds like you might have a vacuum inside your carafe. You didn't state which carafe, the serving or brewing. If the brewing, then opening the orange tab in the lid should break any vacuum seal. If you mean the serving carafe, then you'll just have to force it open. I've had vacuums happen in other insulated bottles when I added cold liquid with ice. This shrinks the air inside the bottle causing a vacuum.
