Yeah, you read that right. The original smoke temperature gauge had seen better days and was due for replacement. This gauge has a bigger dial and much easier to read that the original. The stainless clip makes for a near instantaneous installation. I also use a super accurate digital temperature controller and this gauge matched identically to the digital temperature. Smokers are designed for low and slow cooking and temperature matters a lot. If you are passionate about great food and like to wow your friends you have to keep the temperature right and this will do the trick. You put a $15 to $100 piece of meat on your grill or smoker and put it at risk to over or under cooking with an inaccurate gauge. Step up just a little and get an accurate gauge like this one.
