I make Tahitian Vanilla candles and they smell like buttery caramel... From the description of this type of vanilla, I thought it would smell and taste like caramel, but it really doesn't.. I can't really tell much of a difference between this and pure vanilla extract. I used it in homemade yogurt and it ended up tasting bitter, so the next batch, I used less.. It's not bitter but I can't really taste the vanilla.. I also used it in some low carb cookies, but again, couldn't really taste a difference.. I'll use the three bottles I received but doubt I'd buy it again.. I researched a few days before purchasing Totonac pure Tahitian vanilla extract. When the order arrived I took off the cap to check the aroma of it's contents. Smelled quite the same as other vanilla's so I figured it would be the same. I fixed some peanut butter cookies to try to see if I could tell a difference. I was more than pleasantly surprised. There was a hint of vanilla taste with the first few bites which made me very happy. Finally an Extract that delivers!
