Born in 1973 this is described on the packaging as “Masculine. Powerful. Persuasive.”. So it is definitely from that era when its animal attraction was the main feature! And being orange in colour also gives it that 1970s vibe. Jovan Musk has a warm, lightly musky, spicy and slightly soapy scent. It smells good from the moment you open the bottle and it feels comfortable splashing it on after shaving, with very little in the way of stinging. Once on the skin that warm fresh smell remains for a while. It isn’t the longest lasting scent but the fragrance fades fairly quickly to a low level and stays that way for several hours. It really is quite pleasant and has a clean scent which it would be difficult to be offended by. I don’t have any significant feeling of nostalgia for this brand although I did see it on the shelves back in the 1980s. But sadly nobody ever bought it for me for Christmas so for me it has remained untried until I bought this bottle. I’m glad I’ve bought this.
