Review: Good block and also a handy size. - The block I received is in good shape with good joints and finish. I rubbed it down with mineral oil several times and have used it daily to chop/cut vegetables, cheese and other foods to cook. No problems with grooves from cutting and seems to heal well. Have a used a variety of knives for different foods and got good results. It did seem to slide around so I put a non-stick pad under it which helps keep it in place. Cleans up well and another plus is that mine also looks very good.

I didn't realize how useful the handles on the sides of this block would be until I started using it, they're perfect for carrying your chopped up ingredients to the stove-top without having to lodge your fingers under the cutting surface only to spill your ingredients onto the counter/floor. Don't even get me started on acacia. It looks fantastic in the kitchen and it's a very renewable wood as it grows pretty quickly compared to other woods. The block I received is in good shape with good joints and finish. I rubbed it down with mineral oil several times and have used it daily to chop/cut vegetables, cheese and other foods to cook. No problems with grooves from cutting and seems to heal well. Have a used a variety of knives for different foods and got good results. It did seem to slide around so I put a non-stick pad under it which helps keep it in place. Cleans up well and another plus is that mine also looks very good.

Bought this cutting board or rather BUTCHER'S BLOCK a couple of weeks ago and overall rate it as 5 STAR product. Overall it really improved the quality of my life/health I was shocked how such a simple darn thing can do that. It basically increased my will to cook and cut fruits meats and vegetables on it. It makes that more FUN! PROs: HIGH QUALITY - Being a product made of natural Acacia wood I was impressed with the quality of its construction. No rough edges no cracks no inconsistent discoloration. HIGH UTILITY - Its got a deep groove going around the top for capturing foods that leak ex. tomatoes. 2 grooves on each side for carrying. Underside is FLAT so if you want all flat and more space you can flip it. PRESENTABILITY - I never have to put this thing away it's become like a piece of art for my counter top. CUSTOMER SUPPORT - although I have not had to use it, the company was very proactive about letting me know they would make good if I had any issues. CONs Its a simple product so I can't think of anything significant enough to mention. I guess maybe the fact that its not machine washable but even that is kind of a joke.. its natural wood. FINALLY I tried my video review skills on this one so you can watch that to give you more perspective but I really should have made myself some bullet points even before just trying it on the fly. This was fully impromptu but I just haven't gone back and done it better so I hope I don't get too much judgment on that. Maybe i'll go back in the future and replace this video with a better one. In the meantime Snag one of these ASAP - At retail they are like $200 after tax!
