Of course the longer the run the longer the response time for the level to work. The biggest deck I built by myself using the water level was 18' X 24'. When it was completed you could but a 4 foot level on it any where and it was spot on. As long as you have a sufficient length of hose it should work fine. It was not to difficult to use. I like how I can get a level reading almost everywhere on my projects. Now that I have some practice I am going to attempt to level the floors in my house. The only thing i don't like are the clips at the ends of the hose it unclips its self if you drop it and it lands a certain way causeing the water to run out.
