Review: Best Man's Soap There Is - Used Lava since 1973, when I got my motorcycle learner's permit and started working on vehicles as a hobby. When doing heavy work (like a valve job on a Chevy 350 head) I have always used Lemon GoJo as my goto hand cleaner. Dirt/grease/grime accumulation by anything less than a valve job? Lava Soap is the answer. My primary "like" is that the pumice "grit" of the soap is on the less abrasive side. This means My weekend wrenching isn't betrayed by glowing red, chapped & sand blasted hands. I had tried Orange GoJo for awhile, but the grit in it was noticeably more agressive. There is no fragrance per se, which my cigarette tar scarred lungs appreciate. It does smell a bit like "clean", but doesn't fragrantly announce at a 10 foot distance that, yep! I washed my hands. Lava does a great job of removing Petroleum type smells from hands/arms/elbows/biceps. So whether I am spilling gas while refueling the lawn mower, lighter fluid in the Zippo, or adding a quart of oil to my old, clapped out 318 Dodge, I am sure my cubicle mates at work won't be asking me "what did I spill on myself"? At a now more advanced age, I still rely on Lava as my primary form of not just cleaning, but cleansing my hands. Armor All scent, garbage disposal slime, p-trap hairball, change a flat tire grime, Lava solves it all. Must buy for any man.

**Q: How is this different from the lava soap in the red wrapper?**
A: Both green and red say with moisturizers. The big difference to look for is the Original Lava that doesn't say with moisturizers. It is the only one that has no scent. But the only way to buy it is as a 6 pack.

**Q: how long do 1 soap bar last?**
A: I use Lava as my only soap. 3 months for washing hands/face (exfoliates). 1.5 months for showers. Hope this helps.

**Q: how many bars do you get?**
A: I received one single bar of Lava soap, however, due to the abundance of many gritty particles it's not inclined to be all that foamy when used to wash hands, so it does seem to last much longer than a typical bar of soap..My Lava bar soap lasted longer than 5 months, and I used it frequently..Hope this helps.

**Q: "pack of 1"---"twin pack"?? confusing!  which is it?  one bar or two?**
A: This is a single twin-pack = 2 bars total, which is the typical way Lava is sold.  You can also buy multiple twin-packs, which I've had to do since my grocery store quit carrying it.

Best soap for getting off all sorts of grease and grime. Best part is it doesn’t dry out your skin and a bar lasts a long time. Pump hand cleaners are nice for just your hands up to your elbows, but if you’re covered in grease and grime from head to toe nothing beats a bar of Lava in the shower.
