The scale is pretty small, so I had to magnify with my phone occasionally to see where certain stitches needed to be, but everything turned out gorgeous. I’d give this kit 4.5 stars instead of 5 if I could, because I wanted to finish one at a time, but had to finish all three before I could cut one out. If you tried to cut one finished piece out you would no longer be able to stretch the fabric in the hoop without unraveling it. If the printed them on a slightly larger piece of fabric, and spaced out more, it would solve this issue. Still, the value of the kit is good.. Not a big deal, but it did force me to work faster, as I was trying to give one as a Christmas gift. I got two done each in two days--and I didn't work constantly on them! I gave a 4 on for beginners because I felt it helped that I had done embroidery before, but I believe teens and up could do them with the instructions and possibly some you-tube video help on embroidery stitches. The thread is better than the photos on Amazon indicate. I was amazed at the vivid coloring. The way the final piece comes together was so interesting and exciting...it pulls into little gathers on the back of the pendant's metal holder. I love these. I'll be ordering more as they will make really nice gifts. So glad I decided to get them.
