But I got tired of fighting with my 40 year old saw, trying to get it started. When I opened the box on this WORX saw It looked like a toy in comparison. Lots of plastic, with a guard instead of a chain brake. But you know, it does the job I bought it for, albeit a bit more slowly than a gas saw. And the battery only lasts for half an hour, but now that I'm well into my seventies, that's a good match. So for small jobs this is quite capable. It couldn't handle bucking a cord of wood, let alone the ten I used to cut. It's a bit of a challenge for me to use as a pole saw. Although the saw itself is light, it's a lot heavier that the simple mechanical pole saw I've used before. I wish it had a harness for support somewhere down the shaft. Again though, it does the job. I'm pleased to have removed some troublesome branches and cleaned up some brush at my cottage.
