Obi202 only gives you enough time to dial about 7 digits however. The product is not perfect it doesn't use any power from the wall it only works off of line power available. The slower you dial the better it works. This conflicts with the amount of time available to dial a number on obi202. I guess long distance would not be possible without a secondary touch tone phone. On the obi202 setup page you will find you can preset your area code so it doesn't need dialed every time. If you do this then you only have to dial 7 digits usually. I love both products but you probably will need a touch tone phone. It does render an old phone usable maybe just for nostalgic reasons but the phone will dial out. I tried other pulse to tone converter that didn't work this seems to be the best option. It would be handy if the folks at obi202 could extend the amount of time with a software change that a person has to dial a number. I hope this helps you it's all I really know about it.
