It has enough of a roughness to make it feel like any dead skin cells are being rubbed away, while giving the skin a really good scrub. Feel really clean after using it. It's also really easy to use to clean the area of your back that you can't normally reach. Miles better than a back scrubber brush, better than a long lufah. More hygienic than a lufah.
