It's very thin with a nice feel to it. I was hoping to get rid of my mouse pad and have a larger surface I could use for mousing. I have had two originals for over a year, and one is in my keyboard tray and gets heavy usage (plus I cut it to fit) and I have had no problems yet.The big reason I prefer these over the updated model though is the surface. The original Rhinolins have a visibly thicker surface, and it feels much more durable. When I cut the one to fit for my keyboard drawer, I had to use a new box knife blade and it was still difficult to cut.
