People may think why do you need an electric kettle if I have a stove and a microwave that I can heat up water with. You don’t realize till you start using one how much you really will use this kettle and how useful it is. First off the interior is all stainless steel with no plastic, and stays cool to the touch on the outside even when the liquid inside is boiling which I really like. It has a large almost 2 quart size capacity so it will handle a good amount of water. It also comes to a boil much faster than using the stove or microwave making it speed up the process of boiling your water and the insulated design keeps it hotter much longer than a pot on the stove or the microwave. This is great of course for things like making tea but there are many more uses as well. I have used this to boil water for making gelatin desserts, warming up water for baking in a water bath for things like crème brulee and cheesecake or making bread where you want good temperature control. The one thing I have found this is the BEST for is making risotto. If you have ever made it you know you either have to heat broth up in the microwave or keep a pot on the stovetop which can cause evaporation and inaccurate measurements. I use this to heat up the broth. This way with each fresh addition it is a consistent temperature which means faster absorption and control of the temperature when making new additions of liquid which will give a better product consistency. With it having a pour spout it makes it even easier and less risk of spilling or boil overs. I end up with the perfect risotto each time using this kettle. It is easy to clean up and store and you will be surprised how much this will come in handy in your kitchen. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had some issues but great customer service. *by B***A on Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2017* Pros:-Heats water quickly. Love the stainless steel inside and out.-It's well insulated so although the top gets pretty warm, the sides are safe to touch. No burnt knuckles.Cons:-First time I used it, I had to manually shut it off. It didn't automatically shut off. Good thing I babysat it the first time.-The base doesn't seem new. It has abrasion marks that I doubt are left from just packaging it. Also, the kettle doesn't sit flat on the base. It has a surprising amount of wobble to it.-I didn't realize how ugly the on/off button the back was. Not nice and discreet. It sticks out over an inch and detracts from the nice stainless steel form.-After 3 uses, the outer wall of the kettle dented on the edge of my sink. I didn't bang it against the sink, just leaned it against it while cleaning.Update: I am giving it 5 stars because the customer service was amazing. Yes, I had issues with the kettle but the company was quick to reach out to me and find a solution. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not stainless steel! *by G***O on Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2017* UPDATE # 1 (4/21/2017): Manufacturer contacted me and told me I probably had a defective unit. They sent me the replacement. I am temporally increasing the rating from 1* to 3*. I will review the results in a month and post new pictures. So far, after 2 weeks of using the replacement, I see just a little bit of surface staining.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I wanted to like this kettle so much! The design is good, it's mostly made from steel with no plastic touching the water. But the steel is of low quality! After several weeks of use, it started to rust. We have used steel kettle from different manufacturer for years and never had this problem before. Check out the photos. I was able to wash off parts of the rust, but not completely. This is not stainless steel, deceptive advertising!I added photos for comparison with Hamilton Beach kettle I own. It has accumulated a strain over 1/2 year. I was able to wash the strain off easily with just water and a towel. Didn't need to use even a soap.
