We love the flavor we get from it. We've used it for pork (which I normally find very bland and dry) and not only did it add flavor but seemed to keep the meat moist. We've also used it for steak. My only complaint is that there are no instructions on how to clean it off after use. I researched carefully and heated the block up very slowly so mine did not shatter as I have read in other reviews. It was easy to cook the steak and shrimp on. We cooked them plain with no seasoning and they came out delicious! Really tasty and required no seasoning or marinades, a much healthier way of cooking. Everyone commented on the great taste. Cleaned the block as advised but were unable to get rid of the black on top. It seems the top is permanently stained however as long as this doesn't affect the taste I don't mind. If you were going to use this for serving cold food it wouldn't look very nice though. Downsides are it is time consuming. Takes at least 45 mins to heat the block and you have to wait 3 hours for it to cool before cleaning. Also this size is too small unless cooking for one. It would be better to purchase a larger size. Definitely do your research first but great value for money I believe. This is an excellent starter block.
