## Description

Product Description Throughout the world, the people of the major powers throughout the land live in peace and prosperity, unaware that a great evil lurks on the horizon. There is a clandestine group, under the guise of scholarly research, plotting to resurrect a goddess whose time has long since passed. To achieve this goal, they need two things; a vessel of flesh and blood to house the spirit of the goddess, and the lives of every living being offered up as a sacrifice. It is against the backdrop of this coming chaos that Ares, an orphan from a small, forgotten village, sets out to seek his fortune as an adventurer. At the start of his journey, he encounters a beautiful young girl with mysterious powers named Shiera, who has not only lost her memories about herself, but also of the world around her. Together, they embark on an adventure that will ultimately decide the fate of the entire world. Ragnarok Online, the international massively multiplayer online (MMO) phenomenon, now comes to the Nintendo DS. With over three million registered users in North America, Ragnarok DS brings the same addictive game play of exploration and customization to a handheld platform, giving the huge number of online PC players the next best thing when they are unable to log into their regular Ragnarok Online account from a computer. desertcart.com Ragnarok DS is an action role-playing game (RPG) for the Nintendo DS/DSi systems that is based on the popular web-based PC game Ragnarok Online. Incorporating the same gameworld, storyline and action of the original, Ragnarok DS contains engaging quest driven RPG action, three-player online support (local or Wi-Fi) via a Nintendo DS wireless connection and DS touch screen functionality that mimics the mouse driven controls of the original and allows for easy character customization and weapons/equipment upgrades. .caption { font-family: Verdana, Helvetica neue, Arial, serif; font-size: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; } ul.indent { list-style: inside disc; text-indent: -15px; } table.callout { font-family: verdana; font-size: 11px; line-height: 1. 3em; } td.vgoverview { height: 125px; background: #9DC4D8 url(https://images-na.ssl-images-desertcart.com/images/G/01/electronics/detail-page/callout-bg.png) repeat-x; border-left: 1px solid #999999; border-right: 1px solid #999999; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px; padding-bottom: 10px; width: 250px; font-family: verdana; font-size: 12px; } Easy customization, upgrade and equipping functionality. Features specific to Ragnarok DS include: attacks and commands optimized for implementation via DS touch screen, three-player online DS wireless support, multiple levels of job classes and multiple ways to upgrade equipment. Scenario quests will become available as you progress through the main storyline of the game. Players will be required to complete scenario quests in a predetermined order to continue through the game. To engage in a side quest, players can either go to the tavern in each city, talk with various NPCs, or advance in a specific job class. Many side quests have various prerequisites before they become unlocked, and other of them won’t be available until after the main story of the game has been completed. Review: Amazing - Ragnarok is a simple game that allows the player to do as s/he pleases. The flexibility of choosing the jobs and skills is remarkable. I would recommend this to those who enjoy a simple story line and a lot of action.
Review: mediocre ragnarok experience - As a lover of Ragnarok, I enjoyed the first few hours, but then it sucked. While the main gameplay mechanic with the stylus is fairly solid, the maps are in very short supply. There are maybe 5 different dungeon maps and countless similar quests in this game, which means you'll be sent back to maps you've already visited countless times to locate some new damned thing. Here is an actual quest: "I dropped by dagger in [insert dungeon here] while I was questing, would you mind going there and fetching it for me?" Aside from the fact that this is no way to treat a hero, I wound up going back to a dungeon that I'd already visited countless times. Oh, and getting there means walking through a bunch of maps filled with low-level monsters that you kill in one hit. Slow and boring.

### ⭐⭐ mediocre ragnarok experience

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I like it, but boy you do a lot of walking.
*by C***E on March 1, 2010*

I guess I should start by saying I solely bought this because I used to play the online version and heard that you could some how sync this game up to the online version (which isn't true - unless I am completely stupid and missed how to do it in the instruction manual). I guess I will start by saying that I do like this game, it's fun and actually a lot easier then the orginal online game. I have about 15 hours into it and I am already more leveled up and better equipped then my online character that took about 30-40 hours to get it to that point. I have read reviews where they say that the story isn't that great. I think it is. It's something that interests me and makes me wanna know more. I wouldn't say that I have come to care for the characters like you would in other games. the story line is fun, and the way that it's carried out has made me smile a few times. Gameplay? When I heard that this game is completely touch pad controlled, I was a little put off. I hate games that are only touch screen. This game is actually okay that way. The controls aren't that complex. It isn't like it's asking you to draw some complex shape (that you have to be 100% perfect at drawing) to complete a spell. You click a command box (out of your shortcut menu) and just make some simple shape and your set. The only thing is that if you wanna cast a spell more then once, you have to press the command button - make the shape - press the button again - make the shape again. Rinse and repeat for as many times as you want to cast the spell. This is my major problem with the game. In the online version you could just goto any town and use the warp system to get to another town and or dungen. Not this game. Right now I am in the middle of trying to complete a bunch of quests from one perticular town, and you are going to have to goto other towns to complete the quests. To get to the towns you have maps you have to walk through to get to town (I am sure you are thinking duh) but some of these maps are LONG. And here I am walking back and forth, just to be told to go to another town that is even more long maps away. My level is so high, that the monsters that I encounter on the way don't even help me level up anymore. I don't even need the items from them because I have countless quanties of the cards and or items. So basically I am just walking, and walking, just to get to a town to talk to someone for 2 mins just to turn around and walk back all that way. :( I think that once you get to a town and "discover" it, you should be able to warp there from another town. I am getting kinda bored walking all the time. Just like the online game, you can set your stats and skills how you want. You just have no say over how your main character looks. I guess that doesn't matter, but I would have at least had the option Boy/Girl. But once again... this doesn't really matter. There is a lot to do in this game honestly. I just got to the point where I have my own guild and everyone I talk to in the game has something they want me to do. Even the shop owners (if you buy a lot at their stores then they will ask you to help them with a quest). I am someone that has to try to get everything I can done before I move on with the story line, and oh boy is there a lot. I actually have to write down where I have encountered ppl that have a quest for me just so I can go back and complete it. That little meno pad they give you isn't enough for all that. Right about now that is all I can think of saying. I will add more as I keep playing the game.
