These do not crumble and is easy to apply, but make sure you take the plastic film off first. Very useful and even works on higher performance PC's. The thickness is perfectly as described.
Review: Great product for GPU re-paste and cooling. - These pads are great for any cooling needs you may have when there is a non-conformal gap between chips and heatsinks. Here is what happened to me and these saved the day. I had a GTX 1050ti that was beginning to overheat. When the heatsink was removed it was obvious the thermal paste had degraded. After replacing the paste, I attempted to reuse the existing thermal pads between the memory and the heatsink - big mistake. I began to have her problems right off the bat after an hour of labor putting the whole thing back together. THIS product is the right way to do it. The pads come in different thicknesses within one purchase, which was a huge plus as I was not sure which one would do the job. The pads themselves are uncut which allowed me to trim different sizes for each module to make good contact with the heatsink. Now that the work is complete (again) I'm happy to report that the pads are doing their job by completing a solid contact with the original heatsink. Temperatures are no longer a problem - hooray for gaming! I'd recommend these in a second. Great product, fast shipping without the wait. Don't bother starting your re-paste of the processor on a GPU with a decent heatsink without buying these FIRST as you will need them to replace the old pads on the other chips. If I could go back in time, I'd give myself the following advice: Old pads are old - don't try and be cheap because you will just send up doing the job twice. **Q: Are they compressable (squishy)?**
A: Rebuilt a 5700 XT using these pads. They seemed to work well and are rather squishy. Probably have enough to rebuild 2 cards with this pack.

**Q: How do these compare to gelid?**
A: Which Gelid are you comparing to? They are not a comparable product due to the thermal rating of 6 W/mk. 20 is best you can get. These are passable for some projects, but just about anything with a higher rating [and undoubtedly higher price] is going to do a better job of transferring the heat. It's not fair to compare them to Gelid. Or Kritical. Or XPC, Aairhut and others.

**Q: Would it make sense to use these pads under an external aluminum ssd enclosure such as acasis 10-in-1 hub?**
A: I am not that familiar with that device but looking at the pictures on their web site it looks like the pards could work if there you have a small gap to fill. The pad seems to conduct heat well. I would not expect an SSD to create a lot of heat unless you work it hard. There are utilities to get the drives temperature. You can use them to see how effective the pad is. You need good airflow around the enclosure too.
