What I do is: I put the item being coated with any of the Howard products, to be exposed to the Sun for several hours per day for about a week. Then I put the item in a warm room such as the garage for about another week or two until the surface of the treated item feels dry to the touch. I then buff the coated surface with a dry paper towel or cloth. Remember, if you sand the surface with the finer grits - 400, 600, 800, finishing off with 1200, you will develop a nice sheen. (Beach colour). There are a lot of divots of which I have left as is to bring the character of kitchen that’s authentic and well used. I used two coats to make the finish look more natural as people think I have a stone bench top.
