I love Cuban food and own just about every Cuban cookbook written. The photographs in this book are beautiful . It is very informative about the culture and food. The recipes are just as good as the other books i own. I haven't made any yet, but i cook Cuban every day so just by looking at the ingredients i can tell. Is it not authentic because some ingredients are out of reach from the average Cuban living on the island ? Maybe. But, almost every book i own has seafood recipes included in them. So i don't see why this book is any different. Yes it included some recipes that are not found in other books, but they are not too far out of reach. I can see them being served in a high-end restaurant to tourists on the island or in Miami. I love this book. Review: So much more then just recipes. - This is so much more then a cookbook. They do have tons of recipes which one would expect but the photos are beautiful and there are stories. We haven't had a lot of info about Cuba but this is everything and more. I went through it page by page and I was so impressed with all of it. It is a glimpse into the culture while giving us some great recipes. I will be recommending this to all my friends and buying it as gifts for Christmas. Buy this book. You will not regret it and the price is very reasonable. Flipping through the pages gives you a really intimate look at the delicious food and the people from this culture rich place ! Cuban food is very unique and this book includes ALL of the favorites! I love to cook Cuban food and this cookbook presents recipes in an easy to follow manner with ingredients that are easy to find at the local grocery store, for the most part. And even if you NEVER made anything in this cookbook, you will be amazed at how beautifull the food is presented!
