In 2010 the USGA adopted a dual standard one for PGA Tour Professionals and the other for amateur golfers. They called it the "Conditions of Competition" rule. The sole purpose was to penalize the PGA pro-golfers for playing lies off of the fairway. The grooves on the PGA tour wedges produce virtually no grip on the ball, no pro likes them, but they have to play them. Amateurs want nothing to do with them, as TaylorMade discovered with it's failed XFT wedge which had the 2 faces. Since that time Spin Doctor Golf has not had a single request for a PGA Tour face for the RI wedge. Our customers want to spin the ball, hold the green and lower their score.
