I went with the round one because I was afraid of sharp edges from the square one scratching the pans and a round one will fit up against the edge of the pan better. It washes super easy, no lingering water in crevices and not an ounce of rusting (some reviews said they had rust on theirs) and no sharp edges on mine. Super sturdy but not heavy.I like my burgers thick and juicy. My husband likes his burgers flat and crispy (I don't get it but...whatever). He also likes his steaks well done and his breakfast sausages flat, burnt, dried out and like a hockey puck (bluk). So there's the background to the review. With that being said, I made him eggs and sausage the other night and this burger press flattened his sausage patties just the way he likes them. No more broken flippers because my husband doesn't know his own strength!!Little bit of advice though in case some don't know, this gem is easier to use on loose meat if you put parchment paper on top before pressing. Out of the box, it feels very sturdy as it is made of one solid piece of stainless steel. This fits my needs exactly to make ultra smashed burgers over a cast iron pan. I really need something hefty and flat enough to ensure I smash the beef into the cast iron pan, ensuring it makes close contact for that perfect crispy sear. I was previously using a flat stainless steel pan, but having a fit for purpose tool now makes it so much easier and fun.
