I wear it on my knee for a half hour each day. The removable gel pack insert is broken up into 12 squares, so it contours well to joints and curves in the body. I also love that it comes with an extra gel pack so you can do a cold compress immediately followed by a hot compress if you want. They do hold the cold pretty well but they are just not flexible enough to be comfortable. You have all these little squares of very hard ice that you try to wrap around yourself. They just never make great contact with the skin and do not get comfortable until they've melted. I was much better off with a regular ice bag filled with an alcohol water mix. That was comfortable, reusable, and fit any weird bump or valley of my knee well. My bags held the cold just about as long as these squares.
