## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this tent a blackout tent or does it light up when you have lighting on the inside?**
A: This will "light up" from inside like most all tents. It does cast shadows on the walls with a light on so if you have a privacy concern you will have to keep that in mind.

**Q: how heavy is the tent when it is broken down and in the case?**
A: My Stansport Trophy Hunter tent weighs 8 lbs 7 oz when broken down and stored in its case with tent poles, pegs, and everything.

**Q: What are the storage dimensions and does it come with a storage bag?**
A: Hereis all the info provided to me by the manufacturer...Tropy Hunter 3-Person Forest/Tan- 2 large doors for easy access.- 2 peak roof helps keep you dry in the wettest of conditions.- Bath tub style floor keeps all tent seams above wet ground.- Sleeved pole construction adds strength and stability.- Large mesh panels for maximum ventilation.- Full rain fly with sealed seams for maximum weather protection.Specifications- Sleeps: 3 Person- Size: 7'X7'X54"- Floor Area: 47 sq. ft.- Weight: 8 lbs. 7 oz.- Color: Forest/Tan (image not an exact representation of color)- Fly: Full- Usage: 3 SeasonShipping DimensionsWeight: 8.65 pounds.Dimensional Weight: 6.41 pounds.Dimensions: 6.625" (W) x 6.625" (H) x 24.625" (D)Weight Disclaimer: * Weight may vary based on configuration.

**Q: How many seasons is this tent designed for?**
A: I have peen better insulated ones for winter, so I'd say it's a 3 season tent. Be sure to get yourself a properly rated sleeping bag.

    Good little tent

*by R***S on Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2015*

I was very hesitant to buy a tent for $45, but lost the rain fly on my last, and had planned a camping trip with my son. I set it up when I got it, and it was what I was expecting. The sides are screen, two big doors on each side, and a nice long rain fly. Tent has 3 poles, two form the dome. You do have to push the poles through long pockets and then the ends have little pegs that fit into them. A bit tricky to do with one person, but can be done (easier if you have a second person). I found it easiest to put the 3rd pole into the fly, and then flip it over the tent. The pole holds up the ends over the doors, and the 4 ends clip to rings near the base of the poles. You can also put the fly on, clip it down and then install the pole, but found it easier to put the pole in first. I left it up to air out for 2 days before going on our trip, let it air out and learned how to set it up and take it down, make sure all the parts are there, etc..When we set up the tent for our camping trip, the wind was wicked strong. We were set up on gravel, and the tent stakes folded in half just trying to push into the ground with my foot (they are really light aluminum, great for weight, but if you have rocks/ gravel/ they are worthless). I put a few moving blankets on the floor of the tent, a cooler and plastic storage container with our food, our sleeping bags... weighted down. It was bending over, but nothing broke. We went out for a little while and when we returned the tent was on its side. So I took out the pole on the rain fly, went out and bought some steel stakes, and finally it stayed in one place. At night the wind died down, and it turned out to be a great night. With two doors it was easy to get in and out of (but honestly used only one door, just habit). Tent is short (square floor, so does not matter which way you set up your bags). I am just over 6 feet tall, and slept at a bit of an angle so I was not hitting the top and bottom of the tent. And with all the screen it was colder, would have liked a bit more fabric. Floor is like a heavy tarp, but I always cover the floor with a blanket or something to make it a bit more comfortable and quiet. Fabric on the tent and fly feel very thin. I can not comment on keeping rain out, as it was dry that night, but no dew on us in the morning. Tent poles are surprising flexible and strong. There were points where our tent was bend over almost to the ground, and it rolled onto its side with everything inside, poles were fine. Tent stakes are worthless, mine are already in the trash replaced with some real ones.If I were going out for a week, I would spend some money and get a better tent, but for a night or two here and there, it will be good. Even with a 7 year old zipping and unzipping, running in and out of the tent, zippers held up fine. I would not recommend 3 people unless you are all under 5'8" tall. Two people gives you enough room to sleep and also keep some gear inside your tent. The floor is probably close to 7'x 7',but sides slope in, so you really don't have that much usable space. It also has two nice little pockets, handy for your cell phone and flashlight, and a little hook at the top so you can hang a little battery lantern or something. All in all good tent for a few nights. More than I was expecting for the night.

    Great tent for price!

*by A***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2013*

If you're looking for something that is hard to put together, super large, or one that won't blend well with natural forest environments, than this is not the tent for you.The Stansport Hunter Series Trophy Tent is the best bang for your buck, plus more. Tents that run this size at my local Gander Mountain run upwards of $100. You see, it's not the name that matters, but the tent itself. Stansport isn't as popular as Eureka! but they make the same quality tents, and you will see that with this one.ASSEMBLY: So anyways, into the review: What you see is what you get here. The tent is 7 feet and can fit 3 people with little gear. If you're going on a long hike and have a good amount of gear, this thing can fit 2 plus the gear, and it is perfect for that. The tent was a breeze to set up. I don't set up too many tents very often, but with the directions this tent was very easy to raise. The directions are simple and short, and tell you what you need to hear, not a bunch of other jibberish. The tent comes with 2 long support poles and 1 short Rain Fly pole. Raising it is as simple as feeding the two poles across and then putting them on the metal tab to keep them stationary.COLORS: It's green, but not completely. The rain fly pictured here is not the one I got. If you look at the picture you'll see that the door is 2 colors, one olive drab green, and one lighter tan/green. The rain fly is the 2 colors aforementioned, with the tan being on the sides. The tent is also two colors with the tan being on the side again.STORAGE: there is a string to hang a lantern, and 1 pouch on the wall for small equipment such as maps, gps, phone, etc. There is nothing else besides walls and the floor included.OPENINGS: My biggest problem with this tent isn't big at all. The tent has 4 mesh "windows" on the side, and a smaller mesh roof piece for circulation. Two of the mesh windows are on the doors, and what can't be seen in the picture is that they can be closed from the inside, allowing privacy. The problem is the two mesh windows on the other two walls. They're there, but they can't be closed. They're covered when you put the rain fly on, but if you want privacy without the rain fly on, tough luck. BUT DON'T LET THIS DRIVE YOU AWAY! The rain fly is really quick and simple to put on, and I prefer it on to keep the tent cool on a hot day. So honestly, there isn't much of a problem with the two windows being open all the time.PROTECTION: This tent does a super good job with protection from the elements. With a double peaked roof and rain fly, you don't have to worry about rain gathering up and soaking in. Also, the rain fly design keeps rain off the tent, whilst still allowing you visibility. The only problem I could forsee is if the doors were facing into a heavy wind whilst it was raining. If the rain was moving sideways enough, it could hit the doors without hitting the rain guard. In that circumstance I'd suggest lifting the tent and rotating it (very simple), or if you know that things like that are possible, try and find a protected area to put your doors facing. When it comes to wind and cold protection, this tent is very well constructed. I set up the first night on a windy and 24F day, and within 20 minutes it was pretty toasty inside. Wind was not getting in, and heat was staying, thanks to the rain fly being over top of the top vent.OVERALL: Very good tent! Got here in 1 day with regular free shipping (partly amazon's deed), and came with everything. I would recommend this to my grandmother!PROS:CheapVersatileDurableProtectiveSimple and QuickCamo if you live in the woodsLarge for priceCONS:Window problem mentioned aboveA little heavy, but not bad.

    Needs higher entry way.

*by G***H on Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2022*

The quality of the tent is great compared to my cost at purchase. The biggest problem is the entryway is much too low for safe entry and exit for a 5'9" person. Bending over wasn't safe with such a high lip where the zipper is at the bottom of the door. I would trip over the lip when bending far over at the head to get my head into the tent to stand up. Setting up was normal for the type of tent.
