I bought this for my wife's birthday. First time she used it was 2 months after purchase.  When she opened it, the umbrella flew out of her hand like a rocket and would not stay open and spread out.  Something is wrong with the mechanism.  Can't find any info on line on how the umbrella works.  Of course her birthday is in February and didn't need an umbrella until April so 30 day warranty is over. Do not purchase this item
