In the case of this dog whistle, what everyone must understand is it will always really depend on your dog as to how effective it actually is. With that being said, this product is probably the best out there. Works exactly as advertised. Very good frequency adjustments and good whistle sound quality. Don't really let the 'silent' part fool you though. There's really no such thing in a dog whistle.My dog does respond well...but remember two things. It's not a magic whistle. It's used as a training tool. Nothing more. Find the frequency your dog responds to, then train using the whistle. Second, it won't stop a dog from barking. No whistle will. That is a myth about dog whistles. Avoid any whistle that says it will. That is false advertising. Bottom line. This product is well worth the money. But it is a training tool. Nothing more. The very first time I used it, he was barking on the balcony while I was inside. I blew the whistle and he immediately stopped barking, trotted inside and looked at me with a cocked head. I am also beginning to clicker train him. We are doing agility, rally obedience, guard and attack work. We will do nose work soon, too. I am using this on a mini schnauzer / Staffordshire terrier mix. Since I live in an apartment, this is perfect - it won't annoy my neighbors.My mother just ordered one for her dog after I blew the whistle and got him to stop his incessant barking.
