They were not easy to open! But lots of fun!!! These are definately oval & the majority were big pearls. Size of shell does not dictate size of pearl. **Q: How many pearls cone in each oyster?** A: Just one pearl was found in each oyster. We opened 20 of them. Now, these pearls are only worth a couple dollars at most, you are paying for the fun. And don't get caught on pearl opening scams. The pearls are not Akoya or worth what they tell you! Edit: Have now had 6 sets of these pearls from this seller. They range in colours more than the four colours mentioned in the ad. Here is a photo of 5 of the sets, minus a couple we gave away. The other set of 10 my daughter has.
