What a super cool invention! (Wish I thought of it! LOL)I have this in the light socket above my washer/dryer. Why you ask? B/c I wanted to use a USB small fan to help direct the flow of my AC and in the winter, my heat. Normally that one spot is really cool or really warm when I walk in from the garage when the ac/furnace is on.It has a light switch so I can keep the fixture on but the lightbulb off. Caveat: for me, no matter how hard I tried, I could not get the USB to face outward. Maybe it's me??... It's not really a problem but I wanted it to face out. Writing this, I'm not sure why it was so important? I'm aware that I could probably just have it replaced and the next one I get might work, but honestly when I buy something that's only $20 and it breaks immediately as well breaking something else that I paid for, the hassle just doesn't seem to be worth it. When I buy something I expect it to work and not to break immediately and need replacing. That's my bad experience with this product that seemed like a good idea and probably would be great if it actually worked the first time I bought it.
