There were no instructions about the amount of water to put in the ice core before freezing I nitially I left about an inch of space at the top. I should have filled it only 2/3 of the way. The original product we received had a faulty thread when i screwed in the diffuser to the lid it was impossible to get it off. I tried several methods. The manufacturer sent us a new pitcher immediately. The diffuser and ice core have worked beautifull.
