Silent, except for the occasional faint internal water circulating. In fact, it is relaxing and fountain-like. Cleaning is easy, relatively, if you have the tools: small flat brush, and one of those flexible foam brushes for wine decanters, to bend and reach to the awkward corners inside the basin. Vinegar, of course, from time to time. The fact that it is small capacity, means also that water doesn't stagnate more than one night, therefore: less residues.
