The paint is a tough acrylic polymer pigmented with high purity Carbon black. The Carbon black imparts superior corrosion resistance as well as high conductivity. This product works best on smooth, flat, and hard surfaces. It has a Valve tip that opens when the pen is pressed against the surface to be drawn on and it has a soft tube, so the flow may be controlled by squeezing the center of the pen. It is used to draw resistors and connect grounds in prototyping, hobbies, or Maker projects. First, clean the circuit board where the contacts are using Isopropyl alcohol. I also used Iso to clean off the rubber dot, which is usually a conductive carbon substance. Then apply the *carbon* version of this product to the black dot. Cover the whole surface and let it dry completely before re-assembling. **Q: Can this be used to repair a broken strip in a car rear defogger?** A: I just tested a 1/2" long x1/8" wide strip on a piece of pyrex glass and got 0 resistance for that length. It seems to conduct well for a short distance and stuck to the glass very well. I can see it being used for prototyping of low voltage/low current circuits.This particular compound is based on nickel, which is not a as conductive as copper.This pen would work fine for the small repairs like cuts or tears in the existing PCB traces. BTW, there's a more conductive version of this pen which is based on silver.Aside from conductivity issue, there's an issue of securing parts to PCB.
