Review: Cheap and easy upgrade - I've been using an nice, but old, desktop machine for a while whilst "putting up with" its relatively poor performance. The source of the poor performance was the fact that it's internal SSD was only 30GBytes (yes, it's that old), and so the OS and all data were stored on a slow, low power spinning hard disk instead. The solution was simply to pick up a "trailing edge" modern SSD and reinstall everything. What a difference, literally at least a 5 times performance increase effectively making the machine feel like new again. Will this do the same for you? Only you can tell. The SSD is excellent value for money, while being big enough and fast enough to move any performance bottle neck away from "old storage" into a different, but faster, area of the machine. For me this was a super upgrade which will give this machine years more life.
