## Overview

Crushed Roast Barley Malt 500g by Maltmaster is a high-temperature roasted barley malt designed to impart a distinctive bitter flavour and deep colour (1100-1400 EBC) to dry and bitter Stouts, as well as subtly adjust the colour of Pilsen and Lager beers. Sourced from Essex, this premium malt balances pyrazines and pyrroles for complex taste profiles, making it a must-have for craft brewers seeking authentic, bold brews.

## Description

Product Description Roasted Barley is used in the production of dry or bitter Stouts and other dark beers, or for the careful adjustment of Pilsen beer colours. Because the roasting process is slightly different from that used for Roast malt and a higher final temperature is used, the balance of pyrazines to pyrroles is different, with there being more pyrazines present in this product. This leads to a more bitter flavour and the use of the material in the so-called bitter Stouts. It can also be used to colour and flavour Lager beers, but the quantities used of the total grist are relatively small. Review: No aroma left - Old or wrongly stored - I was looking for roasted barley to brew an alternative to coffee, this was a popular coffee alternative in the rural Italy when coffee could not be afforded, and it is still traditionally known but we'll known. This barley has the right colour but absolutely no taste, 2 in a scale to 10. Probably it is old or improperly stored, for comparison imagine leaving ground coffee exposed to air, after a few months of oxidation it will have less or no taste. Might be still be suitable for making beer, I am not expert.
