A ballast costs this much plus the cost of the bulbs which run $5-10 each. Additionally, since there is no ballast, all the energy lost by the ballast conversion is no longer lost. This is super easy to convert. Remove the old ballast. Connect your incoming white wire to all of the wires one one end. Connect the incoming black wire to all the wires on the other end. Install the new LED bulb in place of the old florescent bulb and you have light. The only negative is that these new bulbs, being made out of plastic, bow in the middle. Make sure the bulb doesn't fall out by putting a 1 inch piece of double sided foam between the back side of the bulb and the lighting fixture right in the middle of the fixture. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Beware of the defective bulbs *by D***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 20, 2017* 3 bulbs worked fine. Only half of the 4th bulb worked. Contacted kihungtech@where ever the instructions said. This was over a week ago. So far nothing has been remedied by either Kihungtech@?? or by Amazon. I am fine with either a new bulb or a credit for one bulb. That should not be asking too much?? ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good but needs a minor improvement. *by R***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 13, 2017* Really like 4.5 stars...I really like them now that they are installed, but there is a slight design flaw, in my experience with these. I have attached a photo comparing the pins of the original fluorescent tube, one of these LED ones as they come out of the box, and a pin that I've modified. The original fluorescent tubes have a rounded pin so they will easily spread the contacts apart and allow the pin to seat into the fixture. These tubes come with the pins pretty much squared off. This causes the problem of not being able to get that pin into the fixed single pin base. This is not a problem with the spring loaded fixture on the other end. So, I took a Dremel tool with a sanding drum and put a little 45 degree chamfer onto one pin of each tube. That spreads the contacts and now I am able to get those pins seated into their fixture.I too, had to drill a hole on either side of the tubes at the mid point and feed a plastic zip tie around them to hold the tube from sagging. They could do better than that with the aluminum extrusion but that would cost more money.So, if they are listening, they need to redesign the ends of the pins.
