I'll nEVER buy another piece of steel from this manufacturer; or Japan for that matter. ### ⭐⭐⭐ A few considerations before purchasing. *by J***W on November 18, 2016* Two negative comments first and then the good:1) Knife had surface rust on it which indicates that it is steal - possibly the high carbon steal that the manufacturer claims. With claims like "unique forging process to optimize the blade's sharpness, edge retention and corrosion resistance" one has to wonder, but this has missed the mark of "corrosion resistance."2) The knife doesn't come razor sharp out of the box. It is sharp, but I was able to put a better edge on it and improve the safety and easy of use when working with the knife. Sharp knives are key to a safe and effective kitchen.Neutral - there is no sleeve, blade guard or sheath. The product is not listed as coming with one, but the buyer should consider this when purchasing. Where do you plan to store this knife so that both you and the knife are protected?Good - good solid weight and the fit and finish are very nice.The product description offers a 100% gaurentee.
