Works great, kid loves it
"Dad, say Mebo is amazing"This little robot is my son's favorite Christmas gift. It drives very well, even on uneven ground. The camera gives a clear picture. It can easily grab small items and carry them. The remote control via phone touchscreen is intuitive and responsive.Extra kudos for the hassle free setup and update process. Entirely seamless.A small "con": the first Mebo had a nonfunctional claw. The replacement process was painfree. The new - functional - Mebo was here within 48 hours.Managing expectations: this is a toy. It will not clean your room, it does not work well for telepresence, it is not a robot butler.

I would like to give it zero stars
I would like to give it zero stars. Mebo will not stay connected to your phone/tablet for more than a few seconds. We once got it to work for just over a minute. Mebo does nothing without the wifi connection. It asks if you want to connect to a router but that feature isn't even available. There is no warranty. There is no product support. It is very expensive considering that it was released before all the bugs were fixed. We just had moments of great excitement when it would connect, quickly followed by moments of great disappointment. DON'T give it to an excited hopeful child.

How do u charge mebo?
Mebo’s charger doesn’t work. It died once when we were playing with him and he has been plugged in for a week and mebo is still dead.

My son decided on this as his big present for his bday and was so excited to get it. That excitement however quickly turned to frustration. We went through three difference Android devices attempting to get the connection stable enough to do a mandatory firmware update. Even after that we constantly got disconnected which means like 30 sec before you can reconnect. By the end he wanted to return then thing. Thankfully I discovered that you can change the wifi channel and after two random guesses it has finally been stable. He's been happy with it but I'd be willing to bet wifi disconnects is the number one reason for return.

You can choose your wi-fi channel..
This thing is pretty cool. My 8yo daughter loves it. I was hesitant after reading the reviews but I updated the firmware and once set up, you can manually change through 11 channels on the app. I guess people would rather complain than do some reading and problem solve.

Terrible software
The claw makes it much more fun that other robots similarly priced. But it's software is really bad ! It constantly looses connection. The app is terrible. When you finally get it connected to your phone or iPad - the Video feed may still not work. Then if you try reconnecting - good luck getting it connected again.Very frustrating and disappointing for kids.

Happy Grandson
I purchased this for my 14 yr old Grandson. He loved it and had very little trouble setting it up with his I phone and was using it in no time. I had concerns because of some of the reviews about being able to operate it but he had very little trouble with that either. Delivery time was good. I did have some issues with Amazon about billing and pricing but I have no complaints what so ever about the product itself, and like I said I did have some concerns about how technical it was to operate.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
Do not buy this item! I bought this as a birthday present for my son. It never worked, the battery was junky. I tried to fix the issue with MeBo Customer Support and they kept giving me the runaround, having me scan the barcodes, print out, fill out, sign and re-scan an excel chart and email information back to them. All things that a busy mom doesn't have time to do but I did it anyway. Then they disappeared and in the interim I missed the 30 day deadline to return for full fee on Amazon. Amazon politely let me return it but they charged a restocking fee of over $25. After repeated efforts, MeBo, although admitting the breakdown in communication from their team was faulty, said they are "unable to refund the other 20%". Very frustrating, and obviously a disappointment for my son because this was his main birthday present, and I don't see why I have to cover the 25 bucks due to their faulty product and crappy support service.
